We decided to head out to a resort with my dad’s side of the family for a quick, spontaneous getaway. It wasn’t heavily planned—just a “trip-trip” because it had been way too long since we last spent some quality time together. As soon as we got there, the old energy came right back, and we instantly made up for lost time by joking around, catching up, and just enjoying each other’s company by the pool.
The highlight of the day was definitely hitting the water and challenging my cousins to a swimming race. We used to do stuff like this all the time when we were younger, so bringing that playful rivalry back was a blast and had everyone laughing and cheering. It was exactly the kind of chaotic, fun bonding moment that we desperately needed after being apart for so long.
Sadly, I couldn’t stay to enjoy the overnight fun and had to head home early. I still have a mountain of schoolwork waiting for me, and as much as I wanted to keep hanging out, duty calls. Even though it was a short visit, I’m just really glad I got to take a quick break, race my cousins, and reconnect with everyone.
